the Tipsy Strip decorated for the holidays
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas week! The village is feeling festive and looking lovely with lights and decorations. Everyone is busy bustling about making preparations for their holiday meals. Seasonal favorites are on offer- rum popo, black cake, cookies- and all the restaurants are posting their special menus on Facebook to entice you to make reservations with them.
If you haven’t made Christmas plans yet and don’t want to cook, check out Placencia Beach Club, Itz’ana Resort, Inky’s 19th Hole at Sirenian Bay or Doyle’s Smoke Yaad. Everyone’s menus look delicious!
This weekend we had a holly jolly time watching the annual Holiday Boat Parade with friends along the canal at Sunset Pointe. The parade began from Buba Wuba Bar on Harbor Place North and meandered along the lagoon past Captain Jaks and the M&M gas station then went out Sunset Pointe and around to the Municipal Pier. We saw about ten beautifully decorated boats participating and spotted Santa. Of course, I had already seen Santa earlier that morning when he made a special appearance at the finish line of the Siene Bight Youth’s Running Club Race.
The boat parade is a real favorite of mine and I missed it terribly last year when we didn’t have one. It just didn’t feel like a ‘Caribbean Christmas’ without it and I’m so pleased the Buba Wuba crew was able to organize it again. Stay tuned for more merriment this week!
