Man, I really feel like I missed a golden opportunity to get some behind-the-scenes gossip and cover the shooting of this Hallmark Original Movie that was filmed in locations along the Placencia Peninsula. It was like one of the most exciting things to happen around here and I didn’t get the inside scoop while it was happening. (In a rare turn of events, I was actually really busy with work and travel at the time, what are the odds?!) It was a whirlwind, fast and furious few weeks of filming and then they were wrapped and gone. Hallmark must be a well oiled production machine because the movie is already debuting this weekend!
I’m so excited to watch this and spy all the familiar faces and places! The production company, with LOADS of hard work from their local helper, Jolie Pollard, coordinated shoots at popular and recognizable places around the village and they hired an army of local ‘extras’ for the background and minor roles.
Watch Caribbean Summer on Hallmark this Saturday, June 11 at 8/7c wherever you are; but if you’re in Placencia you might consider attending one of the Premiere Parties happening locally at 6pm.
Inky’s (at Sirenian Bay Resort) will host a showing and offer 10% off all appetizers on their menu, 10% off any pizzas, and drink specials.
Tipsy Tuna will show the movie on the big screen (on the beach) as well as in the Sports Lounge and they’ll have a fun Red Carpet to walk and a step-and-repeat to take photos in front of. What will I wear?!?
