This is a new series: Placencia People You Should Know. A who’s who of peninsula peeps and brief backgrounds on some of the familiar faces you’ll see around town whether you’re vacationing or snow-birding, or moving to the area. My friend Zeke gave me the idea and inspiration for this new category of posts so its only fitting that I highlight him first. And boy, is he a great person to know! Affable, approachable, kind and compassionate; he’s someone you just gravitate towards and his upbeat attitude is kinda infectious. So lets find out who Zeke Choc is and why he’s a Placencia person you should know!
Ezekiel, or Zeke as everyone calls him, is originally from Toledo District and relocated to Placencia to pursue employment within the tourism sector. Gregarious by nature, this was a slam dunk move for the young man who became a fast favorite at the popular Rumfish y Vino restaurant and lounge. Everyone’s preferred server and bartender, Zeke made a name for himself on the peninsula and acquired a lot of new friends. Always happy to help and support the community that so warmly embraced him, Zeke is a continual volunteer. You may run in to him at the Humane Society, at a Rotary Club function, manning a water station during the marathon, sweeping the beach of garbage during a Village-wide clean up, or any number of other places supporting his neighbors and offering a helping hand. He is now the President of GLOW (read this past post about their annual fundraising event that was SO much fun) and on the new Village Council’s fundraising committee.
Zeke made a transition in to Real Estate and his natural amiability and pride in his homeland make him well suited for the role of agent but it’s his enthusiasm and candor that people really appreciate. He’s just so genuine and he’s always willing to take the time to talk. If you have questions, Zeke will answer them or tell you who could. A nice guy to network with! I came up with a tag line I think he should use for his realty stuff (he’s an agent with IPG right on the sidewalk in the Tipsy Strip). Ready? “If you’re looking to rent, buy, or sell property OR you just want to know more about relocating to Placencia then you need to SEEK ZEKE!” #seekzeke
So if you see this handsome face around the village, now you know- it’s Zeke!

Zeke is awesome!! He helped us find a place and is great to run into now and then. Just saw him at The Pickled Parrot a couple weeks ago when I was out for a drink. He is truly a “great find” in Placencia and will help you find you’re great find in real estate!!! #seek Zeke
