One of my favorite properties on the peninsula, Sirenian Bay is a relative new-comer to the scene (less than 5 years old) but has already made a big name for itself and a LOT of progress in a short amount of time. Seriously, every time I pop in on this place there’s something new to see or something else in the works! They must just keep a construction crew on staff- seamlessly working from one project to the next. You might remember I posted about their mini golf course, Inky’s, here or the amazing job they did hosting Mistletoe Ball here, or about their Halloween event here. Anyway, it’s been a while since we’ve been there but I’ve been Facebook stalking for months and finally dropped in to spy what’s new… and there’s a lot!
A proper, indoor, modern, climate-controlled gym. You guys! This is the thing Phil misses most about America; a real and well-equipped training facility. Kettlebells in the backyard can only take you so far. Half the year it is so hot here I sweat buckets just using the toilet! (TMI? Sorry, but I figure if you’re here you have come to expect this level of honesty from me) I don’t always know if I’m working hard or hardly working during my workouts because the humidity does funny things to your perceived exertion. I would definitely get more out of my sessions in an air-conditioned setting. Plus, look at this equipment! A squat rack, treadmills, and my ultimate: a leg press machine!
Wow wow wow- we are for sure getting an annual membership here. In Belize, swimsuit season is year-round so this beach body is going to commit to looking better in a bikini with a Sirenian Bay gym membership. My only distraction might be from the new martini bar they’re building on the rooftop… ah temptations! But look how elegant this is going to be: panoramic views of the resort, the golf course, and the mountains across the lagoon. I just love how they did the glass partitions instead of railings for unobstructed views. How beautiful is this bar going to be?! Especially when the thatch roof palapa and that wooden center piece are backlit at night. Oh, I can’t wait!
Something that a lot of other people can’t wait for: the opening of the tennis and pickleball courts. On the other side of the mini golf course, the much-anticipated ball courts are nearly complete! These decks look top notch. I don’t know what precisely pickleball is but I’m about to Google it because it seems to be wildly popular- everyone is clamoring for these to be finished and available for use.
The mini golf course was looking lush- the landscaping throughout this property is fantastic. The restaurant’s organic garden was looking prosperous as well (I’m sorry I didn’t take any photos but they had rows and rows of herbs flourishing. I can’t grow basil here to save my life!). The neighboring lot has been filled and leveled in preparation of their next project (I told you! They don’t stop with the projects!); a second office for golf cart rentals. Currently, all their golf cart rentals are handled next door to my house at Captain Jak’s but having a second location further up the peninsula is a great idea.
That’s what’s new at Sirenian Bay Resort!
