Listen up Guys and Ghouls, there’s lots of Halloween happenings on the Placencia Peninsula this weekend. You can, of course, find them ALL on my handy dandy Calendar of Events right here on RealLifeRecess but here is a quick overview of all the family-friendly offerings. So mark your calendars and finalize you costumes… it’s spooky week!
Friday, October 28th
- Garifuna Story Telling- Spooky Tales Edition
Gather around the beach campfire for spooky Garifuna folklore tales and smores at Itz’ana Resort & Residences. Open to the public but RSVP with reception to confirm your attendance. 5pm
- Beach Cinema
When the sun has set and twilight descends, the beach transforms in to an outdoor movie theater-complete with popcorn! Itz’ana invites you to join them for a special Halloween weekend screening of Hocus Pocus 2 at 6pm.
Saturday, October 29th
- 5k CROCtober Costume Dash
Come in costume for this 5k charity run benefiting the Seine Bight Youth Running Club and the Crocodile Research Coalition. Easy fun run from the Placencia Police Station and back; prizes for top finishers and for best costume. $20bz registration for adults, $15bz for kids under 15 8am sign in 8:30 race
- Trick-o-Treat and Costume Contest
Itz’ana’s Great House turns haunted for kid’s trick-o-treating and crafting. All little boys and ghouls will make their own Halloween souvenir and prizes will be awarded for best costumes. Open to the public but you must contact the front desk to reserve your spot.
Sunday, October 30th
Car-to-car(t) trick-o-treating for the kids in the Beach Club’s parking lot. 3-5pm
Monday, October 31th
- Kids’ Costume Parade and Party
Kids in costume meet at the Municipal Pier at 5pm for the parade through the village to Tipsy Tuna for the costume competition- prizes for Most Original, Scariest, Funniest costumes.
